Event organizers will:
- promote the event & sell tickets via Taste of Wayne County website. 600 presale tickets, with 15 samples each. It is expected that approximately 1000 people will participate in sampling, with the remaining tickets sold at the gate on the night of the event.
- deliver an event lawn sign advertising your attendance at the event.
- check all event-goers in, ensuring those wishing to sample alcohol will be carded & banded;
- provide an event-branded spoon-fork-knife and glass for event goers to use for tasting and a bag for promotional materials.
- award a traveling trophy to the vendor who wins a vote by QR code at the event. The award will be presented at the first Newark Village Board meeting following the event.
- provide tent space, in the form of 2 large common tents, on a first-come-first-served basis (~25 vendors).
- offer vendors reimbursement in the amount of $.75/sample ticket by the vendor. Reimbursement is made within 14 days of the event.
Vendors will:
- offer samples valued at $1 for each sampling ticket presented at their stations.
- provide marketing materials to distribute to tasters. Must provide at least business sized card with your location address and hours but we encourage coupons to entice customers to your business or any small sized marketing material.
- provide certificates of insurance, naming the Village of Newark and Newark Chamber of Commerce as additional insured.
- have adequate sanitation for employees providing samples (hand washing station, gloves, etc.).
- sample in compliance with all NYS licensing including liquor, food processing and home processing.
- agree to be unloaded with vehicles off the street by 3:30pm. The street will be open for setting up at 2:00p.m. Vendors should be completely set up by 4:15pm.
- not breakdown their stations until after the event ends at 8:00pm for the safety of other vendors and event goers. After 8:00pm. vehicles will be allowed to enter the street. If a vendor does not follow these guidelines, they will not be welcomed back to the event.
Vendors selling pre-packaged goods will be allowed to sell products at the event - i.e. bottles of wine, packs of a dozen cookies, popcorn kernels, etc. Sales must be for cash/credit card/etc., and not in exchange for tickets.
Restaurants will not be allowed to sell food or beverages aside from samples. Bars, wineries, distilleries, and cider producers will not be allowed to sell by the glass. Bakeries will not be permitted to sell single cookies, brownies, pie slices, etc.
A non-profit will be selling bottles of water at the event.
